Description | Role Overview The Remote Access Technical Architect supports the Service Manager and Service Owner in managing the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment ensuring peak performance cost optimization and excellent user experience. This role collaborates with internal technical teams and third-party service providers to maintain and enhance Remote Access Services across cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Operational Support Support day-to-day AVD operations to ensure peak efficiency. Troubleshoot and triage technical issues escalating as necessary. Support compliance with documentation standards such as SOS and STRA. Contribute to various IT projects to ensure high-quality implementation. Provide cross-training and mentoring to build team capability. Architecture & Service Development Collaborate with Service Manager/Owner on service architecture and roadmap. Work with third-party service providers to implement Continuous Service Improvement (CSI). Evaluate application usage across AVD services factoring in licensing performance and support ownership. Support the development and content maintenance of the Remote Access Services SharePoint site and knowledge base. Monitoring Analysis & Reporting Assist with the development of monitoring tools and reporting to assess service performance capacity and troubleshoot issues. Infrastructure Oversight Maintain and document AVD infrastructure (cloud and on-prem) configurations. Ensure timely renewal of certificates and recommend upgrades as needed. Participate in annual disaster recovery testing and plan updates. Review and support vulnerability assessments and security posture improvements. Required Qualifications Education The resource must meet or exceed one of the following combinations of education and experience (details provided in resume): Degree/Diploma in Computer Science Information Technology or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Mandatory Experience 5+ years defining technical architecture and building environments. 5+ years gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders. 5+ years in process improvement documentation and requirements gathering. 5+ years of professional communication (verbal/written). 3+ years developing cloud-based platforms and using cloud services. 3+ years handling technical issue triage and resolution. 3+ years working in multiple architecture domains (business app tech etc.). Nice-to-Have Experience 5+ years designing/supporting remote work architecture. 5+ years end-to-end IT solution design development deployment. 3+ years developing new IT services including documentation and onboarding. 3+ years IT infrastructure architecture experience. 3+ years working with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow). 3+ years supporting UAT for complex enterprise solutions. 2+ years in Agile development environments. 1+ year working with Microsoft 365 and/or Microsoft Teams architecture. |
