DescriptionSummary: The Sr. Developer Business Intelligence will work as part of the Strategic Insights team to turn data into actionable information for caregivers. In this role you will develop business intelligence capabilities advanced analytics dashboards and reports in support of the organization’s goals and objectives in line with the overall data strategy. This position provides support in the development analysis interpretation and management of a variety of data sources to support end user needs and enable actionable decision making to ultimately improve patient outcomes. You should possess a strong background in data and business analytics with the ability to solve problems provide critical thinking and communicate complex technical ideas in a clear actionable way. As a Sr. Developer BI you will have responsibility for the design development and deployment of analytic solutions including requirements gathering logical and physical data design data modeling UI/UX design ETL functions SQL development testing solution deployment report dashboard advanced analytics and visualization creation and administration and maintenance of analytic tools. You will help lead a team of developers also supporting the analytics lifecycle. You will also support the Director Strategic Insights in various data strategy-related functions including advanced analytics data governance and collaborating with other departments. These analytic solutions will all be in support of the needs of the Guthrie Clinic and its stakeholders. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data management data science or a related field. 2-4 years of experience with relational databases and data modeling. 2-4 years of experience in the design development and deployment of data visualization and business intelligence solutions. Proficiency in data visualization techniques and experience developing reports visualizations and dashboards using various analytic tools (e.g. PowerBI Tableau) Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts. Experience with statistical analysis (Python R or other statistical analysis software). Experience leading small teams coordinating priorities schedules and deliverables. Knowledge of various data repository and storage designs including data warehouse data lake and data lakehouse. Knowledge of data management principles including data governance preferred. Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in data science e.g. AI augmented BI big data analytics cloud computing. Epic certification in Clarity/Caboodle Data Model and related certifications for roles focused on Epic reporting (Certifications will be required within first year as a condition of employment). Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a technical or business-related field Master’s degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Preferred certifications include Epic Certification and Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Fabrics Analytics Engineer and/or Fabrics Data Engineer. Essential Functions: Business Intelligence functions: Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Possess high attention to detail to ensure quality assurance and control of analytic products (data and reporting accuracy integrity and security). Knowledge of relational database design and development techniques in operational reporting and business intelligence environments. Familiar with data architecture design including data warehouse data lake and data lakehouse and the ability to access data for ETL processes to support the development of advanced analytics processes BI platforms reports and dashboards. Experience with data visualizations tools (such as PowerBI Epic Clarity Qlik Sense) and techniques. Prior experience working with EMR and clinical systems data in a healthcare organization is preferred. Prior experience working with Epic reporting tools and/or Oracle Cloud Fusion in a healthcare organization is preferred. Experience with Epic business intelligence tools and/or Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher and Oracle Fusion Transactional Business Intelligence reporting tools is preferred. 2. Advanced Analytics Use Cases Work with clinical operational and business units to identify and refine high-impact data use cases. Assist in creating actionable analytics projects based on end user requirements. Drive the development and deployment of predictive models machine learning algorithms and other analytics tools. Monitor performance and outcomes of analytics providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. 3.Data Integrity and Governance Assist in developing and enforcing data governance policies to ensure data quality security and compliance with healthcare regulations. Support the implementation of data validation cleansing and enrichment processes across the organization. Collaborate with IT compliance and clinical teams to monitor and improve data integrity standards. Create and maintain documentation and training materials related to data governance protocols. 4.Collaboration and Communication Prepare and deliver presentations of data findings to the analytics team and stakeholders translating complex analytics into clear actionable insights. Assist in facilitating cross-functional meetings and workshops to promote data literacy and strategic alignment.
