We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scala Developer to join our team and contribute to the design development and maintenance of our Elasticsearch-based search platform. In this role you will play a key part in building scalable and efficient search solutions enhancing the shopping experience for millions of users and supporting merchant needs. Responsibilities Design and develop features for advanced search solutions utilizing Elasticsearch with a focus on PHP and Golang Support maintain and enhance the search indexing pipeline using tools like RabbitMQ and Redis Collaborate with product managers UX designers and engineers to transform business requirements into technical solutions Drive improvements in search performance relevance and user experience for faceted and plain text search Work with senior engineers to apply best practices and troubleshoot complex issues in PHP and Go codebases Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the stability and performance of the search platform Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field At least 3 years of experience in Scala development Experience working with distributed messaging tools such as RabbitMQ or Kafka Proficiency in PHP and/or Golang along with strong SQL skills Solid understanding of search technologies and hands-on experience with Elasticsearch Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Fluent English communication skills both written and spoken at a B2 level or higher Nice to have Experience working with large-scale high-traffic microservices architectures Previous experience with Java development Familiarity with other components of the Elastic Stack such as Kibana or Logstash Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker We offer Learning Culture - We want you to be the best version of yourself that is why we offer unlimited access to learning platforms a wide range of internal courses and all the knowledge you need to grow professionally Paid Holidays - We offer paid time off during all national holidays (working and non-working) for a total of 15 days.
