About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our cloud-based products. This individual will be responsible for driving automation scalability and reliability across our systems while collaborating closely with development security and operations teams. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in modern cloud platforms and a passion for optimizing and automating workflows. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design implement and maintain scalable secure and cost-effective infrastructure in AWS or GCP. Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools like Atlassian GitLab CI GitHub Actions or similar. Monitoring & Reliability: Implement observability frameworks (metrics logs tracing) and drive incident response practices to ensure high availability of services. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform CloudFormation or similar IaC tools. Security & Compliance: Partner with security teams to enforce best practices identity management and compliance standards (e.g. SOC2 FedRAMP). Collaboration: Work closely with product engineers to improve deployment practices resolve issues and accelerate delivery cycles. Performance Optimization: Proactively analyze system performance and optimize resources to improve speed resilience and cost-efficiency. Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Site Reliability or Infrastructure Engineer. Expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or GCP) and hands-on experience in deploying and managing production workloads. Strong background in containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes EKS/AKS/GKE). Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python Bash or Go. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet Chef). Strong understanding of networking security and system architecture in cloud environments. Proven track record of building scalable resilient infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud strategies. Knowledge of serverless technologies (AWS Lambda Google Cloud Functions). Familiarity with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus Grafana ELK/EFK Datadog). Exposure to regulated industries (finance healthcare government) and compliance frameworks. Leadership experience mentoring junior engineers or leading cross-functional initiatives Location This role is offered as a hybrid or remote position based out of our Sterling VA office. Salary The base salary range for this position is between $145000 - $170000 depending on experience.
