| Description | API Design and Development: Design develop and maintain scalable and secure RESTful and SOAP APIs. Develop and implement API standards including security authentication and data integrity. Create and manage API documentation to ensure clarity and ease of use for internal and external developers. Integration and Data Management: Integrate APIs with internal systems third-party services and external platforms (e.g. payment gateways accounting software). Work closely with business analysts and product managers to define integration requirements. Handle data parsing transformation and synchronisation across platforms. Performance and Security: Monitor and optimise API performance ensuring low latency and high availability. Implement security protocols including OAuth JWT and API key-based authentication. Ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR). Testing and Debugging: Develop and execute unit integration and end-to-end tests for APIs. Debug and resolve issues related to API performance and connectivity. Set up automated monitoring and alerting for API failures and errors. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with front-end and back-end developers to align API functionality with application needs. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners using the APIs. Continuously improve and refine existing APIs based on user feedback and performance analysis.
