Enterprise Cloud Architect Active Public Trust Required U.S. Citizenship Required The Opportunity Thunderyard is seeking a mid-level Enterprise Cloud Architect to support a federal customer in modernizing enterprise technology platforms and accelerating cloud transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for a strategic technology leader who understands how to align enterprise architecture cloud technologies DevSecOps and modernization initiatives with agency mission objectives. As an Enterprise Cloud Architect you'll serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders helping define future-state architectures guide cloud adoption strategies and drive enterprise modernization efforts across complex IT environments. You'll collaborate with technical leadership application teams cybersecurity professionals and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable secure and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Summary The Enterprise Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies that support cloud modernization digital transformation and secure technology adoption across the organization. This individual will evaluate current-state environments develop target-state architectures and provide technical leadership for cloud platforms enterprise applications infrastructure modernization and DevSecOps initiatives. The ideal candidate has experience architecting enterprise-scale cloud solutions leading modernization efforts and working across multiple technical disciplines to improve technology operations and business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain enterprise architecture strategies that support agency modernization initiatives. Design scalable cloud architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure and other enterprise cloud technologies. Assess current-state environments and define future-state architecture roadmaps. Develop enterprise architecture diagrams technical documentation and reference architectures. Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives across enterprise applications. Evaluate enterprise technology capabilities and recommend improvements to infrastructure cloud adoption DevSecOps and software development practices. Provide architectural guidance for custom-developed applications and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Support implementation of Zero Trust Architecture principles throughout enterprise technology environments. Lead data modernization initiatives including enterprise database strategy and large-scale data migration efforts. Provide technical leadership on SaaS platform integrations enterprise services and modernization initiatives. Support implementation of FinOps practices to optimize cloud resource utilization and spending. Collaborate with application developers infrastructure engineers cybersecurity teams and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle. Maintain project documentation using Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Basic Qualifications Active Public Trust clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required. 5+ years of experience designing enterprise architectures cloud solutions or large-scale IT modernization initiatives within federal or enterprise environments. Experience architecting enterprise cloud solutions with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services. Experience supporting or integrating enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms including ServiceNow . Experience incorporating Zero Trust Architecture principles into enterprise solution designs. Expertise with enterprise database technologies such as Oracle PostgreSQL or similar relational database platforms. Experience planning and executing enterprise data migration initiatives. Experience implementing DevSecOps practices across enterprise software development environments. Experience with modern DevSecOps tools and technologies including GitHub GitLab Docker Kubernetes Terraform Experience developing and maintaining baseline and target-state enterprise architectures . Experience creating enterprise architecture diagrams and technical documentation. Experience developing modernization roadmaps that guide organizations from legacy environments to modern cloud architectures. Experience designing solution architectures that align custom-developed applications with enterprise architecture standards. Experience implementing or supporting FinOps practices for cloud financial management. Experience collaborating with executive leadership technical teams and business stakeholders to develop enterprise technology strategies. Experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence . Excellent written verbal presentation and stakeholder communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Treasury or other civilian federal agencies. Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. TOGAF Zachman FEAF or other enterprise architecture certification. Experience with Agile software delivery methodologies. Experience supporting large-scale cloud transformation programs. Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST and FedRAMP. Experience supporting enterprise AI or advanced analytics initiatives. Compensation This role is budgeted at an annual salary of $140000-$160000 plus benefits including medical dental vision coverage PTO and partial 401(k) match Vetting Candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation for clearance eligibility by our government client.
