Reporting within the platform engineering department this role will solve critical OS configuration patching and lifecycle automation challenges to maximize system reliability and security performance. The engineer will directly impact developer experience and infrastructure resiliency while maintaining strict compliance with federal security standards. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Build maintain and optimize robust automation workflows for the complete Linux host lifecycle including OS configuration patching AMIs and base container image generation. • Diagnose and resolve complex production incidents across operating system kernel performance and service layers using Python Go C or Ruby. • Own and administer core system services container base images and critical infrastructure components across hybrid cloud and on-premises footprints. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to execute security hardening and align infrastructure operations with FedRAMP compliance requirements. • Lead ambiguous technical initiatives from initial system design to production deployment participating in a sustainable on-call rotation (~16 days/year).
