Title Third Party Risk / Vendor Security Consultant Location Remote (some travel within the US may be required) Job Type Contract (12 Months) Compensation $82.71 - $105.26/hr Industry Retail About The Role Our client a Fortune 500 leader in the retail industry is seeking an experienced Third Party Risk / Vendor Security Consultant to support a strategic initiative focused on strengthening vendor access governance across a large enterprise environment. This role will play a key part in identifying documenting standardizing and securing vendor connectivity processes while enhancing visibility into third-party access across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) vendor security access governance and cybersecurity operations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cybersecurity infrastructure and business teams to implement scalable secure vendor access practices that support long-term operational and security objectives. Job Description As a Third Party Risk / Vendor Security Consultant you will support efforts to improve how third-party vendors access enterprise systems and networks. You will help establish consistent governance practices document existing vendor connectivity and drive process improvements that strengthen security controls and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Document and inventory existing vendor connection methods across the enterprise environment. Analyze vendor access models and associate existing connections with appropriate vendor engagements. Support data quality and remediation initiatives to improve visibility into vendor connectivity and access relationships. Help define document and implement standardized vendor access provisioning processes. Partner with cybersecurity third-party risk infrastructure and business stakeholders to establish secure vendor access practices. Support adoption of new vendor onboarding access management and governance procedures. Review vendor network connectivity and validate alignment with established security standards and controls. Document approved connection methods including + VPN connectivity + API integrations + Remote access solutions + Direct network connections + Other approved vendor access methods Collaborate with project leadership to provide status updates track milestones and support project deliverables. Develop process documentation operational procedures and governance artifacts that support ongoing vendor access management. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience in Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Vendor Security Cybersecurity Governance Information Security or a related discipline. Experience supporting vendor security assessments and third-party risk programs. Knowledge of vendor risk management principles and security governance practices. Experience reviewing documenting and managing vendor network connectivity and access controls. Experience with security access management and network access reviews. Strong documentation process development and process improvement skills. Experience working with cross-functional cybersecurity infrastructure networking and business teams. Ability to organize analyze and improve large volumes of operational and access-related data. Experience documenting technical processes procedures and governance standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Experience working within structured project environments and meeting defined deliverables. Familiarity with + Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) + Vendor Security programs + Identity and Access Governance + Enterprise Security Controls + VPN Connectivity + API Integrations + Remote Access Technologies Preferred Qualifications Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions and processes. Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools and concepts. Knowledge of access governance best practices including least privilege and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Experience developing security standards operational procedures or governance playbooks. Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cybersecurity initiatives. Previous experience within a retail consumer-facing or Fortune 500 organization. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives in complex enterprise environments.
