Overview The MSW Internship Coordinator is responsible for supporting supervising and strengthening the Clinical and Macro Internship Tracks within the Black Girls Mental Health Foundation Internship Program. This role provides mentorship administrative oversight and professional development support to graduate-level interns while helping enhance internship structure training experiences and program effectiveness. This position is ideal for a social work professional with experience in practicum education nonprofit leadership macro social work practice and culturally responsive supervision. The MSW Internship Coordinator serves as a key liaison between interns universities leadership and community initiatives while helping cultivate the next generation of equity-centered clinicians advocates and nonprofit professionals. Core Responsibilities1. Internship Supervision & Coordination Serve as the primary field instructor and liaison between BGMHF and university partners. Attend required field instructor trainings provided by university partners. Coordinate intern onboarding orientation and training processes. Support intern recruitment screening interviewing and selection in collaboration with leadership. Provide weekly one-hour supervision and mentorship to MSW and graduate-level interns. Support intern growth skill-building and professional development. Provide strength-based feedback and ongoing performance support. Complete learning agreements evaluations and required academic documentation. Ensure compliance with practicum requirements and university expectations. Assist interns in navigating practicum goals expectations and deliverables. Foster a supportive growth-oriented learning environment. Monitor intern progress engagement and project completion. Reinforce NASW ethical standards and CSWE competencies. Contribute to continuous improvement of internship programming and learning experiences. 2. Macro Practice Training & Program Support Supervise and support macro-focused internship projects including Community outreach initiatives Advocacy campaigns Program development Research and evaluation Grant-writing support Systems-change initiatives Assign and support implementation of macro-level tasks and projects. Collaborate with leadership to develop internship projects aligned with organizational needs. Support interns in building nonprofit and community practice competencies. Strengthen macro-track structure training opportunities and learning outcomes. Provide weekly administrative supervision to Clinical Track interns. 3. Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals and organizational leadership. Participate in internship planning meetings and program development initiatives. Support organizational initiatives focused on advancing maternal mental health equity for Black and Brown communities. Assist with strengthening systems workflows and communication across internship programming. Required Qualifications Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited institution. MSW degree completed at least two years prior to application date. Experience providing supervision mentorship or on-the-job coaching. Strong understanding of NASW Code of Ethics. Knowledge of macro social work practice and community-based work. Experience working within nonprofit mental health maternal health or community organizations. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Strong written verbal organizational and documentation skills. Proficiency with Google Suite electronic records systems and InPlace. Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Commitment to racial equity cultural humility and trauma-informed practice. Preferred Qualifications LMSW LCSW or equivalent licensure preferred. Experience supervising graduate-level interns or practicum students. Familiarity with CSWE competencies and field education requirements. Experience in maternal mental health reproductive justice or community mental health. Experience with grant writing advocacy or program evaluation. Experience working in remote or virtual learning environments. Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
