Title Application Development Manager (Remote) Location Houston Texas Type Direct Hire Salary $170000 Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Application Development Manager to lead a critical function within a growing technology-driven organization. This role offers the opportunity to oversee the design development and delivery of enterprise applications that directly support core business operations. As a key member of the technology leadership team you will be responsible for driving application strategy enhancing development capabilities and fostering a high-performing engineering culture. You will partner closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable secure and innovative solutions while also identifying opportunities to modernize systems and introduce emerging technologies including AI-driven capabilities. This position is well-suited for a leader who combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and a commitment to operational excellence. Duties Provide leadership and direction for the application development team ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Oversee the full software development lifecycle including planning design development testing deployment and support. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Drive the adoption of modern development practices including CI/CD automated testing and code quality standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement accountability and collaboration within the team. Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve efficiency scalability and innovation. Support and enhance existing applications while managing new development initiatives. Partner with infrastructure security and compliance teams to ensure systems meet enterprise standards. Lead incident management efforts and ensure timely resolution of production issues. Participate in hiring mentoring and performance management of team members. Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers. Communicate effectively with senior leadership regarding project status risks and strategic initiatives. Contribute to the development of long-term technology roadmaps and architectural direction. Manage budgets resource allocation and project prioritization. Requirements 10+ years of progressive experience in software development including leadership responsibilities. 3–5+ years of experience managing and developing technical teams. Strong technical background in C#/.NET SQL Server and enterprise application development. Experience delivering scalable secure and high-performing applications. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern development tools (e.g. Git Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines). Experience with Microsoft Power Platform. Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and/or AWS. Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred Experience with AI/ML integration in enterprise applications. Preferred Experience with Microsoft Fabric or modern data platforms. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
