Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer to design develop customize integrate test and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with functional consultants project managers business users and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. The role requires strong expertise in AL development Business Central extensions integrations APIs reporting data migration debugging and production support. Key Responsibilities1. Business Central Development Develop and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL programming language. Create and maintain Tables and table extensions Pages and page extensions Codeunits Reports and report extensions Queries XMLports Enums Interfaces Develop Business Central extensions following Microsoft-recommended development practices. Implement custom business logic based on functional and technical specifications. Use events and event subscribers appropriately to extend standard functionality.

• Technical Design Analyze business requirements and prepare technical solutions. Develop technical specifications and solution designs. Estimate development effort and identify technical dependencies. Review existing customizations and recommend improvements modernization or simplification. Ensure solutions are scalable reusable and maintainable.
• Integration Development Develop integrations between Business Central and external systems. Work with REST APIs Business Central APIs OData SOAP JSON and XML. Develop and consume web services and APIs. Integrate Business Central with systems such as CRM e-commerce banking payroll warehouse and third-party applications. Troubleshoot integration failures and data synchronization problems.
• Data Migration Support migration of data from legacy systems such as QuickBooks Dynamics NAV or other ERP applications. Develop data migration programs interfaces APIs and transformation routines. Perform data cleansing transformation validation and reconciliation. Support migration of Master data Chart of Accounts Customers and vendors Items Opening balances Historical transactions Ensure migrated data is accurate complete and consistent.
• Reporting and Documents Develop and customize Business Central reports. Work with RDLC and Word report layouts. Develop financial operational and management reports. Customize document reports such as invoices purchase orders sales orders and statements. Support integration with Power BI and other reporting solutions.
• Testing and Quality Assurance Perform unit testing for developed functionality. Support system integration testing and User Acceptance Testing. Identify investigate and resolve software defects. Perform debugging and root-cause analysis. Ensure solutions meet functional technical performance and security requirements.
• Performance Optimization Analyze application and database performance issues. Optimize AL code queries and data access. Identify inefficient customizations and recommend improvements. Follow Business Central development and performance best practices.
• Deployment Upgrades and Release Management Deploy Business Central extensions to development test and production environments. Support application upgrades and Business Central version upgrades. Work with source-control and deployment tools such as Git and Azure DevOps. Support CI/CD pipelines where applicable. Manage development changes and release documentation.
• Production Support Provide technical support for Business Central users. Investigate and resolve production issues. Troubleshoot application integration reporting and data problems. Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. Support go-live hypercare and post-implementation activities.
• Collaboration and Documentation Work closely with Business Central functional consultants and business stakeholders. Participate in requirement-gathering and solution-design workshops. Provide technical guidance to junior developers. Maintain development standards and technical documentation. Prepare technical design documents test cases deployment documentation and knowledge-transfer materials. Required

Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Strong programming skills in AL. Experience with Visual Studio Code and Business Central development tools. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related discipline. 3–7+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central development. Experience in at least one complete Business Central implementation migration customization or upgrade project. Experience working with cross-functional teams in an ERP implementation environment. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification is an advantage.
