Role Overview Academian is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development of a high school instructional module focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business Education. The SME will collaborate closely with Instructional Designers and project stakeholders to adapt existing content into engaging age-appropriate and instructionally sound learning experiences aligned with high school learning objectives and industry-relevant practices. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Artificial Intelligence applications within business contexts and have experience developing reviewing or teaching curriculum for secondary or higher education learners. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret source content related to Artificial Intelligence and its applications in business education. Adapt content to align with a Grade 10 reading level and high school instructional expectations. Ensure instructional accuracy business relevance and age-appropriate content throughout the development process. Review and validate lesson plans instructional materials assessments and rubrics for quality and alignment with learning objectives. Develop and review authentic real-world business scenarios and application activities related to AI. Collaborate with Instructional Designers to develop embedded knowledge checks assessments and learner engagement activities. Provide recommendations to improve content quality learner engagement and instructional effectiveness. Participate in review meetings and provide timely feedback during project milestones. Ensure all deliverables align with established instructional and quality standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Artificial Intelligence Computer Science Education Information Systems or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. 5+ years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence Business Education Educational Technology or a related discipline. Experience teaching developing or reviewing curriculum or instructional materials for secondary or postsecondary education is preferred. Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts including prompt engineering ethical AI usage and practical business applications of AI tools. Familiarity with assessment development instructional design principles and learner-centered educational practices is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Engagement Project duration Approximately 4–6 months. Commitment 2–3 hours per day during active review and development phases. Participate in project meetings and provide timely feedback on deliverables.
