ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.ActioNet is seeking a Network Engineer to join an integrated team of Federal Employees and Contractors providing IT Infrastructure and IT Support Services to research teams and crews operating research vessels particularly when vessels are in port or docked.

Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week onsiteSalary  Up to $140000What’s in it for you?Opportunity to advance climate research efforts by providing and supporting enabling Information Technology.Join a dynamic team actively engaged in modernizing IT capabilities.Work in an environment undergoing a network modernization initiative including the transition from Cisco to Fortinet technologies.Professional growth opportunities with competitive salary and benefits.Join an organization consistently recognized as one of the best places to work.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing implementing and managing WAN infrastructure and related processes.Provide production support for network infrastructure including day-to-day operations monitoring troubleshooting and problem resolution.Provide second-level problem identification diagnosis and resolution for network-related issues.Configure maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and software in accordance with approved designs and implementation plans.Support the transition and modernization of network infrastructure including the customer's migration from Cisco to Fortinet technologies.Assist with the configuration deployment and troubleshooting of Fortinet network and security solutions.Support the dispatch and coordination of circuit and hardware vendors involved in problem resolution.Support escalation activities and communicate network status and issues to agency management and internal customers.Assist senior Network Engineers in developing and implementing new network solutions.Assist Systems Engineers with implementation activities providing ""smart hands and eyes and ears"" for remote team members.Schedule install configure and test system software and hardware in environments with limited network connectivity.Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems involving network hardware software connectivity and related infrastructure.Monitor and maintain network licenses subscriptions warranties and maintenance agreements.Support network operations in LAN WAN VPN Wi-Fi and other communications environments.Document network configurations troubleshooting activities and implemented solutions.Basic Qualifications4+ years of experience supporting the installation implementation troubleshooting and maintenance of enterprise-wide WAN and LAN environments.Hands-on experience configuring supporting and troubleshooting network infrastructure and commonly used network protocols.Experience with network hardware communications protocols and network architectures.Fortinet experience strongly preferred particularly candidates who have supported or participated in a Cisco-to-Fortinet migration or network modernization effort.Demonstrated understanding of commonly used network protocols and proven experience configuring supporting and troubleshooting network infrastructure.Training and/or certifications in ITIL vendor-specific networking technologies CompTIA or similar areas.Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.Qualified candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience with Fortinet technologies including FortiGate firewalls and related Fortinet security/networking solutions.Experience supporting Cisco-to-Fortinet migrations upgrades or replacement initiatives.Fortinet certifications such asFortinet Certified Professional (FCP)Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS)Additional networking/security certifications such as CCNA CCNP Security+ CASP+ CISSP or equivalent.ActioNet is a CMMI-DEV Level 4 CMMI-SVC Level 4 ISO 20000 ISO 27001 ISO 9001 HDI-certified woman-owned IT Solutions Provider with strong qualifications and expertise in Agile Software Engineering Cloud Solutions Cyber Security and IT Managed Services.   With 24+ years of stellar past performance ActioNet is the premier Trusted Innogrator!Why ActioNet?At ActioNet our Passion for Quality is at the heart of everything we doWe are committed to make ActioNet a great place to work and continue to invest in our ActioNetersWe are committed to our customers by driving and sustaining Service Delivery ExcellenceWe are committed to give back to our community help others and make the world a better place for our next generationActioNet is proud to be named as a Top Workplace for the ninth year in a row (2014 - 2022).   We have 98% of Customer retention rate.  We are passionate about the inspirational missions of our customers and we entrust our employees and teams to deliver exceptional performance to enable the safety security health and well-being of our nation.What's in It For You?As an ActioNeter you get to be part of exceptional team and a corporate culture that nurtures mutual success for our customers employees and our communities.
