What You’ll Do Lead Tax Engagements: Review and oversee tax returns prepared by staff (S corps partnerships individuals etc.) Ensure accuracy compliance and timely delivery. Handle complex returns when needed. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary advisor to a dedicated client book. Communicate proactively with clients to resolve questions deliver updates and identify new advisory needs. Build trust-based relationships that go beyond tax season. Advisory & Strategy Services: Collaborate with leadership to expand our tax strategy business advisory and CFO offerings. Provide proactive tax planning entity structuring and business insights to clients. Help develop internal processes and templates for scalable advisory services. Team Oversight & Development: Supervise mentor and train 1–2 staff members. Lead by example in communication ownership and client care. Provide feedback review work and encourage professional development. Tech-Driven Workflow: Use ProConnect Karbon and Slack to manage workflow collaborate and communicate. Participate in weekly virtual team meetings and occasional in-person firm outings. Who You Are A licensed CPA (or EA) with 6+ years of tax experience including review-level responsibilities. Confident managing S corps partnerships and high-net-worth individuals. Known for excellent communication—you make complex topics feel simple and always leave clients feeling taken care of. Your primary responsibilities will include the following: Review financial statements and corresponding tax returns (corporate and sales tax) for select clients Assist Senior Managers with preparation for tax planning meetings (quarterly and annually) with clients and identify tax-planning opportunities Mentoring and managing our awesome team of Associates and Senior Associates Accounting and tax research/analysis Manage various Canada Revenue Agency requests Required Education and Experience: Canadian CPA designation At least 4+ years of work experience (post-qualification) at a small or mid-sized accounting firm with a focus on owner-managed businesses An excellent understanding of corporate tax sales tax and financial statements Managed a team of associates with varying levels of experience What you bring to the table: Great communicator.
