Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance Operations

Remote Canada

This is a remote position. About the Role Berkeley Payment Solutions is a payments technology company with cross-border USD/CAD operations currently transforming its finance function modernizing systems rebuilding reporting infrastructure and professionalizing processes that have historically been highly person-dependent. We are hiring a 2 for the Finance team to own day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close freeing the VP Finance to focus on transformation ERP selection and implementation banking strategy and AI-driven process redesign. This is a hybrid role part traditional accounting leader part transformation partner. In the first 6–12 months the focus is mastering the operational engine close audit team leadership and the details of how Berkeley's accounting actually works today. As that foundation solidifies this person is expected to bring their own ideas to the table improving the processes they now know better than anyone else including the VP Finance — and to be a full partner in the ERP and AI transformation already underway. What You'll Own Accounting Operations & Close (Day One) Lead the monthly close process end-to-end ensuring timely accurate financial statements Own day-to-day accounting operations across the full cycle (AP AR GL reconciliations) Serve as audit lead managing the relationship and process with Berkeley's existing external auditors Manage coach and develop a team of 4 accounting staff Ensure the integrity of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) environment during the transition period and support migration to a new ERP platform Finance Transformation (Phase 2 Growing Over Time) Partner directly with the VP Finance on finance transformation initiatives acting as the “doer” on projects while contributing original ideas as ramp-up progresses Play an active role in the ERP RFP vendor evaluation and implementation Contribute to Berkeley's AI-forward finance initiatives including evaluating and adopting AI tools (e.g. Claude Enterprise) to modernize accounting workflows Once ramped identify and lead process improvements within accounting operations you will know the day-to-day better than anyone including the VP Finance Requirements What You Bring Required CPA designation (required) Payments industry experience — issuer or acquirer side is acceptable enough exposure to be credible leading a team “in the weeds” on payments-specific accounting Prior people leadership experience even at small scale (e.g. led a 1–2 person team) big-bank large-team long-tenure backgrounds are not the fit we're looking for A track record of process improvement — concrete examples of identifying inefficiencies and fixing them not just executing existing process Experience in a scrappy high-growth environment — founder-led or VC/PE-backed companies preferred over large stable organizations Audit fundamentals strong enough to lead the audit relationship independently Strongly Preferred Modern accounting platform experience beyond QBO NetSuite or Sage preferred experience with Campfire or Rillet is a bonus Demonstrated AI fluency — real usage of AI tools in an accounting/finance context (e.g. close automation anomaly detection reporting). Berkeley is AI-forward every employee has a Claude Enterprise account and is expected to use it Multi-currency / FX comfort — USD/CAD operations touch revaluation and reconciliation regularly Exposure to Budgeting & FP&A – while this is an accounting role to begin with the opportunity is there to own FP&A as well Who You Are Curious — you ask why a process works the way it does not just how to execute it Meticulous — accounting rigor and attention to detail are non-negotiable Hungry and driven — you want to grow quickly and take on more scope as you earn it A strong communicator — comfortable presenting to and interacting with senior leadership including the CEO and co-founder A culture fit for a people-first organization — collaborative coachable and invested in your team's growth Benefits Why Berkeley A genuine build opportunity you will help shape the finance function's systems processes and team from a relatively early stage A clear growth path to Director as the company and role scale Equity options An AI-forward culture with company-wide access to Claude Enterprise A people- and culture-first organization See Posting

We manage the growth of brands doing over $700 million in annual Amazon revenue and we help them scale profitably on the world's most competitive marketplaces. Our Senior Account Managers don't manage accounts — they own outcomes. We're hiring a Senior Account Manager to manage a portfolio of e-commerce clients. E-commerce client management experience is required Amazon experience is a bonus not a requirement. You'll need real performance-marketing instincts speed attention to detail and the ability to treat every client like your own business. You won't be doing it alone. You'll sit on top of a very capable team — PPC and Amazon strategists creative listing and data specialists plus our internal AI ops agent (Viktor) — so your job is to own the relationship and the outcome not to personally execute every task. Requirements What You'll Actually Do Own a portfolio of 20-40 e-commerce brands end-to-end You are the single point of accountability for client results and retention. Run onboarding set strategy deliver results retain the account — the full lifecycle. 2-hour response time during business hours no exception. Own onboarding like it decides the account — because it does The first 30 days determine whether a client renews. We treat onboarding as strategy not paperwork. You set expectations goals and the measurement plan before anyone touches a campaign. Drive results not reports Analyze brand performance and profitability weekly. Diagnose problems before the client notices them. Translate numbers into clear confident client communication. Execute with precision Build and follow structured processes for every account (audits research campaign architecture optimization cycles) Log every change. Document every decision. Nothing slips through the cracks. Coordinate with your strategists daily — you own the relationship they own execution and both of you own the result. Flag and escalate within hours not days. Operate at Trivium's pace We don't do slow. Scaling decisions get 2-3 weeks to play out then we adjust. Every week has a purpose. When something breaks you fix it the same day — no exceptions. If it can't be fixed the same day it's escalated by EOD with a plan. This is a high-volume Slack environment. You will need a real triage system — unread is your to-do list. If performance is flat for 3 weeks you're already pitching the strategic pivot Who This Is For 3+ years of client-facing Client/Customer Success or Account Management experience at a digital e-commerce or performance-marketing agency — or at a platform serving external paying clients. Managing e-commerce clients is required. Amazon agency experience is a bonus not a requirement. Internal single-brand account management does not count. You've personally owned 20+ client accounts at the same time and didn't drop the ball. Hands-on experience running or managing growth for e-commerce brands selling physical products — Shopify Meta Ads Google Ads TikTok Ads or Amazon. You're analytical you think in efficiency and margin — ROAS CPA conversion rate contribution profit — whichever platform you learned it on. You're fast — you hate bottlenecks you move things forward. You're detailed — your reports don't have typos your data is always current your processes are documented. You communicate with clarity and confidence — clients trust you because you know what you're talking about. You take ownership — you don't say ""that's not my job"". Fluent English (written and spoken — advanced level required). Who This Is NOT For You prefer a predictable low-pressure environment. You need to be told what to do every day. You think ""good enough"" is good enough. You avoid difficult conversations with clients. You're not comfortable making decisions with imperfect data. Your e-commerce experience is logistics fulfillment or operations rather than marketing and advertising. You've only managed one brand in-house or a small number of enterprise accounts — we need an external multi-client book. Benefits Compensation & Benefits $4000-$7000/month (based on experience) 100% Remote 25 PTO days + 9 paid holidays Professional development + direct mentorship from leadership Join an 80+ person agency ranked Inc. 5000 170 managing brands generating over $700 million in Amazon revenue The Tools You'll Use Slack Amazon Seller Central Amazon Advertising Console Helium 10 Jungle Scout DataDive My Real Profit Adlabs ClickUp and Viktor (our proprietary AI ops agent).
