Reporting to Pie's SVP FP&A/Deputy CFO this role will be responsible for owning the three-statement financial modeling for the strategic plan budget and forecasts which will inform decisions at the executive and board level.  The ideal candidate has deep modeling and forecasting skills in the P&C insurance industry and deeply understands insurance accounting both GAAP and Statutory and can easily analyze and explain drivers of performance for insurance carriers.  This individual will be highly analytical with the ability to synthesize information from disparate sources across the business and strategic landscape. How You’ll Do It Insurance financial modeling: Build from scratch the three-statement financial projection model (balance sheet income statement and cash flow) by legal entity for both GAAP and Statutory projections. Own capital modeling for the business - BCAR RBC and Hazardous Financial Condition . Perform variance analysis on key elements of results (gross written premium net earned premium losses cash capital balance sheet drivers that impact the model. Create presentation materials for various audiences including senior leadership and the Board to display forecast plan and actual results. Maintain rolling near- and long-term forecasts for use by Pie management Pie’s Board and to inform communications with investors ratings bureaus reinsurance partners and regulators. Coordinate with FP&A business partners and their business leaders on incorporating 5-year business plans into the models. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of financial modeling processes ensuring scalability and adaptability to evolving business needs. Mentor and train junior team members on advanced modeling techniques and best practices. Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to automate data flows and model updates increasing efficiency and accuracy. Reinsurance: Read and understand reinsurance contract terms and understand accounting for reinsurance for all policies in force. Build out the forecast model for the treatment of reinsurance pulling the thread through to all three financial statements. Develop and maintain robust scenario analyses to assess the impact of various reinsurance structures Earned Premium:  Builds out the modeling and forecasting for Gross to Net Written and From Gross to Net Earned taking into account UPR and IFP impacts. Net Losses and LAE: Build loss and LAE forecasts based on AY and PY understands loss triangle modeling. Perform variance analysis and explain drivers of variance to a peg (e.g. CAY and PAY development and drivers of that development by state/segment). Work with our actuarial claims and data science teams to understand trends and drivers of Pie’s insurance losses and integrate those insights into our forecasting processes. Deferred Acquisition Costs: Build modeling/forecast for DAC and explain variances.  Partner with accounting and product teams to optimize DAC capitalization and amortization strategies. Strategic Finance and Other Modeling and Presentations: Build ad-hoc models for analyzing and aiding strategic decision-making . Build out the MD&A financial narratives to help the board and investors understand Pie’s business. Provide financial modeling and analysis support for fundraising reinsurance negotiations and potential future acquisitions. Lead the  integration modeling for M&A activities. Present complex financial concepts and recommendations to executive leadership The Right Stuff Bachelor’s Degree in Finance Business Economics Accounting or related field is required. 10+ years of total relevant experience in the areas of insurance Finance or Accounting is required. 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is required 3+ years of building financial models specific to insurance companies is preferred including modeling RBC and BCAR Insurance industry experience is required (P&C experience is a plus)  Strong insurance accounting knowledge including both GAAP and Statutory is highly recommended. Demonstrated experience influencing cross-functional teams and mentoring junior staff. Proven ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences including executive leadership and external partners. Oversee that Trade notices / Circulars & Tariff changes from Port Customs DG Shipping Immigration must be stored on the location common drive and on Location Q-share point. Escalate any matters of concern to the Country Manager.Debt Control: Follow up and monitor the disbursement accounts turnaround and debt collection with the purpose of maintaining a low average of debtors and credit periods within company set guidelines. Must pre-work on the port calls being handled by on profit and cost of sales before sending initial PDA and accepting the call and ensure to make max profit.Safety Quality and Environment: Ensure strict compliance to all relevant safety quality and environmental procedures in accordance with ISS Quality Management System and ISS Health and Safety Environment policies and procedures to deliver highest quality services to the customers. Customer Service Excellence:  Identify understand and meet internal customer needs by demonstrating       high level of commitment and applying maximum efforts to achieve results to the highest quality standards thus maintaining and exceeding customer satisfaction. The costs product comprises several distinct teams specialising in a specific area of costs including paying party teams and two complex claims team. There are also two receiving party recovery teams. An opportunity has arisen for a supervisor role for the receiving party team specialising in the drafting of costs statements. This role has product wide responsibility to manage the provision of the costs statement drafting service and will report directly to the Legal Director of the receiving party section. ### What you will do? Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions reading appropriate publications Handle confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocol ### Who you are This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced receiving party lawyer to develop their career by managing a specific service delivery (costs statements) and supervise a team of lawyers (currently three). At least five years and preferably in excess of ten years experience dealing with costs recovery arising from litigation to include drafting replies budgets budget discussion reports schedules of costs and detailed bills of costs Recent and extensive experience of drafting detailed electronic phased bills preferable Experience of supervision of other lawyers or being able to demonstrate technical leadership preferable Experience of operational management in a costs recovery context preferable The nature of the costs statement service (over 100 instructions to be allocated per month and often short deadlines) makes the role unsuitable for a part-time lawyer. Ideally this is a full-time position with good availability during ‘core’ office hours required. No less than 4 days per week will be considered but full-time ideal and preferable. The role is fully compatible with 100% remote working from home. Qualified Costs Lawyer Legal Executive or Solicitor (although applicants that can demonstrate extensive experience who are not qualified will be considered) Confident negotiator who can communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word. Previous knowledge or experience of a case management system would be an advantage but is not essential Willingness to follow a process driven system working within set parameters. At least five years and preferably in excess of ten years experience dealing with costs recovery arising from litigation to include drafting replies budgets budget discussion reports schedules of costs and detailed bills of costs Recent and extensive experience of drafting detailed electronic phased bills preferable Experience of supervision of other lawyers or being able to demonstrate technical leadership preferable Experience of operational management in a costs recovery context preferable The nature of the costs statement service (over 100 instructions to be allocated per month and often short deadlines) makes the role unsuitable for a part-time lawyer. Ideally this is a full-time position with good availability during ‘core’ office hours required. No less than 4 days per week will be considered but full-time ideal and preferable. Crisis Communication: You act as the first responder and escalation point for reputation-critical events designing and managing strategic responses to media scrutiny regulatory inquiries or public criticism particularly on sensitive climate-related topics. Internal&External Communications: You align internal messaging with external narratives ensuring consistency and clarity across teams geographies and communication platforms while serving as a communication partner to the CEO and leadership team. Branding: You own and evolve the brand strategy ensuring that the visual identity tone of voice and positioning reflect company values and differentiation. You lead branding and rebranding efforts aligned with strategic goals oversee impactful brand activations thought leadership events and industry presence and shape end-to-end storytelling around key milestones such as product launches partnerships or fundraising. Agencies: You select brief and manage external communication and branding agencies ensuring their performance alignment and strategic integration into broader business objectives. Leadership: You lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of approximately eight full-time employees across communications PR brand and content fostering a high-performance collaborative and mission-driven team culture. Your Story Job requirements Educational Background: You hold a Master’s degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism Marketing or a related field an MBA or equivalent strategic training is considered a strong plus. Experience and Industry Exposure: You bring over 10 years of leadership experience including team and budget responsibility and more than 15 years of background in the tech industry. You have demonstrated leadership in controversial or high-risk industries (e.g. mining energy utilities or companies like Tesla) and/or have experience with sustainability-focused firms such as South Pole or other organizations regularly under public scrutiny. Expertise and Technical Competencies: You have strong expertise in crisis communication and scientific communication combined with a technical background and deep exposure to the tech industry. You possess brand strategy and brand-building experience and are skilled at crafting and delivering compelling messaging for a range of audiences including investors regulators media customers and the public. Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: You thrive in high-pressure and cross-functional environments maintaining calm and focus during challenging situations such as media leaks or internal crises. You are a proactive team player who integrates smoothly into high-performing teams and intuitively understands organizational needs with 95% of requirements already met. Languages and Travel: You are fluent in English and willing to travel occasionally.
